Visa
Please check the expiration date of your passport! American, Canadian and
Australian citizens also need a Visa to enter in Brazil.
Payment.
Must be in US Dollars. It can be made using personal check, bank check,
or money deposit. We do not accept credit cards. 50% of the tour cost is
due on confirmation or 30 days prior to departure, the other 50% is due
15 days before departure. The prices are subject to the change. Please,
e-mail us for price confirmation.
Confirmation.
Should be completed within 10 days of departure.
Refund
Policy.
Any tour cancellation should be done by e-mail or by mail to BIRDING.COM.BR.
For cancellations made prior to 70 days of departure, all payments will
be fully refunded. For cancellations made between 69 to 45 days of departure,
50% of the any payment will be refunded. Any cancellation made Fifteen (15)
or fewer days, before departure qualify for any refund. After the start
of any tour, no refunds will be given for unused service. It is highly recommended
that you buy Bird watching trip cancellation/interruption insurance!

The
Birding itineraries.
We always aim to offer you everything it is described in your Bird watching
itinerary. Of course, we count on your understanding that some alterations
may be required due to abnormal weather or changes in river levels.
Included
All ground transportation start from Manaus or From Cuiabá and come
back, all overnights a comfortable jungle Lodge, all meals, full board,
outings as described, boat ride (when requested), native birdwatching guide
service; park fees and bilingual guide service.
Not
Included
Beverages, medical costs or hospitalization, insurance costs, personal expenses
as laundry servive, phone calls, International or Internal Tickets, visa
fees, any transfers not mentioned in the itinerary or any other personal
item and Reserves Fee (US$ 10 per person).
Clothing.
Weather will be generally warm to hot. Light field clothing, including several
pair of pants and shorts and comfortable shirts, will be appropriate. A
hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are also recommended for protection. Be sure
to have one pair of good hiking boots or comfortable walking shoes and a
second pair to change into. Rubber boots should be brought for the river
island excursions. A swimming suit is also suggested, and raingear is recommended.
Dress will be casual throughout.
Health conditions of participants.
All participants must be in well health conditions and they must see their
doctors before take any birding tour.Yellow fever vaccination is highly
recommended, as well as polio and tetanus. Malaria has been confirmed in
Brazil, including the chloroquine-resistant strain. There have been some
recent changes in recommendations for malaria prophylaxis. Mefloquine (Lariam)
is now the drug of choice in all areas where chloroquine-resistant malaria
is present. A single dose should be taken one week before the start of the
tour, continued during the tour, and for four weeks after its conclusion.
Mefloquine is available by prescription only and may not be suitable for
those using cardio-vascular medication; consult your physician. Cholera
has been reported in Brazil, but no country requires cholera vaccination
for direct travel from the USA and no vaccinations are required to return
to the USA. Please consult your physician for any recommended preventative
treatment.
Our
recommendations
All participants must prepare themselves reading detailed the general conditions
for the tour, Daily itinerary and other information about the Bird watching
trip requested.
Smoking persons. There are non-smoking persons
between other customers. If you smoke, please be sensible to them, smoking
in reserved areas for smoking persons.
Walking in the forest. For to walk in the
forest you must use long pants in order to avoid to be beaten by mosquitoes.
If you prefer to use short pants do not forget to use repellent in your
body. Rio Negro river region has practically no mosquitoes. In other hand
the Rio Solimões River region (or the white waters) has a lot of
mosquitoes. We also recommend rubber boots.
Insect
Protection. The
use of a repellent containing DEET is recommended. We suggest bringing two
squeeze bottles of Cutter's or OFF.
Items to bring. Pack a flashlight, water bottle
or small canteen, towel, alarm clock, and day-pack. Your leaders will have
a spotting scope, but if you have one and wish to bring it, please feel
free to do so.
