The city of Presidente Figueiredo in the state of Amazonas (Brazil) is situated 107km from the Amazon capital, Manaus, on the edge of Highway BR-174, which integrates the Amazon to the Caribbean and North America, with more than 300 species of wild birds catalogued. This itinerary it is offering a fascinating bird trip in the Terra Firme Forest! We will leave from Manaus on the well-paved highway BR-174 until the city. Arriving there, we will be staying at a comfortable Inn.

We will go birdwatching in Presidente Figueiredo, early in the morning and afternoon, and we will observe birds such as: Painted Parakeet, Red-lored and Red-Fan Parrot, Crimson Topaz, Warbling Antbird, Black-heade Antbird, Curved-billed Woodcreeper, Musician Wren.and with luck we will can see Pavonine Quetzal (Pharomacrus pavoninus) and the main specialties are in the campina forest. These include White-naped Seedeater, Rufous-crowned Elaenia and Pale-bellied Mourner, Black Manakin, and Bronzy Jacamar occur in the denser area of low forest, and at the rainforest edge possibilities including Guianan Cock-of-the-Rock, Blue-backed Tanager, White-naped Seedeater (Dolospingus fringiloides) and Willy's Antbird (Cercomacra laeta). During three full days we’ll be visiting these areas, that offers great opportunities for a good Bird trip experience.
