Birdwatching in Right Coast of the Amazonas River, Amazonas (4 Days/3 nights)

Birding tour Juma Lake in the Right Coast of the Amazonas River. The Rio Amazonas is Born from the convergence of the Rio Negro with the Rio Solimões in Manaus (Brazil) — a phenomena known as the “Meeting of the Waters,” where the dark water of the Negro meet with the White waters of the Rio Solimões and don’t mix with each other, running side by side for 6 km until they mix, forming the Rio Amazonas that spills into the Atlantic Ocean. We can find the margins opposite of one kind of forest, distinct species, as well as birds and other vertebrates, restricted to this type of habitat—process that occurred also on the right coast of the Rio Amazonas. We are offering an unforgettable and fantastic Birding Tour at the Right Coast of the Amazonas River (Brazil).

In our Birdwatching tour for Juma lake, we will leave from Manaus, transfer by water and road until Juma Lodge, where we’ll be accommodated in rooms on the Coast of Juma Lake with rather simple and comfortable accommodation in the plain Amazon forest. Our tour will be done in flooded forests, on the juma river, running holes between the trunks and vegetation partially inundated in a motor canoe, traveling along the trails in the interior of the Terra Firme forest, and you will have a lot of opportunities to go a good bird watching. Among the species that we’ll see, are the specialties that occur just on the right side of the Rio Amazonas (right coast), such as the White-throated Tinamou, Lettered Aracari, Ocellated Woodcreeper, Great billed Hermit, Trush-like Wren, Mustached Wren, White-singed Sherike-Tanager, Para-oropendola, and the Cuvier’s Toucan (Ramphastos tucanos cuvieri), a race that occurs from that side of the river and many others. In this place we will have a unforgettable birding.
